The Juicy Fertile Waters of the Full Moon in Pisces

The Full Moon takes place on August 30, 2023 at 9:25 pm ET at 7° Pisces.

This is a juicy, fertile Full Moon with Luna applying to sextile her ruler Jupiter in Taurus. The psychic waters of Pisces receive a blessing when mixed with the fecundity of the Taurean soil. We may experience favorable circumstances in regards to resources changing or improving, creative visions taking form and a general sense of well-being and good fortune shifting our worlds for the better after the shocking unpredictability and nervous system overwhelm of the last lunation. Both Pisces and Taurus are slow-moving, peace-loving signs so we can expect more rest, pleasure and good times under this full moon. Luna in Pisces delights in the mystical and ethereal so allow yourself the time to journey or commune with spirit. Jupiter in Taurus is a floral anchor, reconnecting us with the wisdom and magic of nature, sensuality and embodiment. Jupiter is 5 days away from stationing retrograde so shifts regarding Jupiterian themes are emphasized.

Luna has separated from Saturn, meaning that the story has moved beyond the confines of the past, helping us break free from the burdens and limitations of old stories. The Sun is currently ruled by a retrograde Mercury – hidden, just a little out of the way from being a key player in this month’s revolution. Overall, this lunation is a welcome respite after the stressors of the last lunation, which was tightly square Uranus in Taurus really emphasizing instability, breakdowns and drastic changes – the stuff that can overwhelm the nervous system.

In Austin Coppock’s 36 Faces, he calls the image of the first decan of Pisces where this lunation takes place, “The Labyrinth” because in one system of rulership, Saturn has authority over this face of Pisces. Here, we recognize how the structures of our lives are confining. Only by journeying to discover their form and existence can we destroy them and be released from their bonds. Once we discover the labyrinth, we begin to question who the architect behind this structure is, and the road leads us back to ourselves. Once we find that we are our own imprisoner, we discover that we are also the one with the key to our cell.

Once we have this knowledge, we can begin to craft the reality we actually desire. But we have to map out and understand our soul’s desires first in order to change our lives. Love and compassion for ourselves and each other are the balms that open us up to a greater breadth of experience and transform the pain and sorrow into medicine. Our hearts hold the key to our greatest reality and free us up to live more fully with each moment. Be kind and gentle with yourself during this process. It’s a delicate journey back home to ourselves.
